What is the economic cost of road accidents in Italy? According to ISTAT 2023 data, the cost of
road accidents involving personal injuries reached 18 billion euros, equivalent to 1% of the national PIL.
This figure rises to 22.3 billion euros when including accidents involving only property damage
(around 4.3 billion euros).
