SMA Crash Cushions can be easily installed and fully meet the road safety requirements according to the EN 1317-3.
SMA Crash Cushions have different installation options:
The SMA Crash Cushion is installed on a concrete basement with connecting screws (M24). The metallic wire, including the nuts, will be fixed in the concrete basement and acts as a reinforcement. The crash cushion is fastened to the concrete with screws. This way of assembling the crash cushion simplifies the on-site installation and allows a more rapid removal, without leaving any clutter of threaded rods at the floor level.
The SMA Crash Cushion is installed on a concrete basement with the GEBOFIX VE-EA/SF chemical anchors. The concrete basement should be set and then drilled using a template which reproduces the holes of the crash cushion’s metallic basement. After waiting the curing time the crash cushion is placed and the nuts are screwed.
The SMA Crash Cushion is installed on asphalt with the Chemical Anchors. The pavement is drilled and the TOGE chemical anchors are putted inside the holes. After waiting for the cure time the crash cushion is placed and the nuts are screwed.
Thanks to their strength, it is possible to change the absorbing panels after a frontal standard impact or the sliding side panels after a lateral standard impact . Consequently SMA crash cushions are very simple and inexpensive to restore.
SMA End terminal is installed on asphalt and/or terrain by hammering some specific posts into the soil. The hammering of the posts on the soil is carried out with a pile driver and the plates on the upper side of the posts must be at the same height of the ground. After that, the device is anchored on the plates and fixed to them with the nuts
